How high is Vietnam’s highest peak? How do Hmong people build rice terraces on steep mountain slopes? What do you need to carry for a night of camping in Vietnam?
Hoang Lien Trekking
The mountain town of Sapa lies at 1500m in the north west of Vietnam close to the borders with China and Laos. The surrounding Hoang Lien National Park boasts Fansipan peak (3,147m), sweeping valleys, spectacular rice terraces and a network of villages best accessed by foot. On this trekking trip, students will make their way from Sapa town along the broad valley, staying in local homestays and camping along the way. Village activities include cooking classes and heritage crafts with minority people. The trip culminates with a breath-taking cable car ride to the peak of Mount Fansipan at 3,143 metres above sea level.
